Copper mining in the United States Wikipedia
The ore 2% to % copper as chalcocite replacement grains in an 8inch (20 cm) thick bed of grey shale in the Permian Flowerpot Shale. The ore also carried some silver, as stromeyerite. Copper and silver occur in a sandstone rollfronttype deposit in the Wellington sandstone of Permian age at Paoli, Garvin County, Oklahoma. About 1900, several wagon loads of ore were shipped from the deposit.
